A short, magical trip to the southern bay of Zakynthos — where the loggerhead turtles spend their summer. Aboard glass-bottom boat we glide over their world, swim into the famous Caves of Keri, and stop at a turtle-shaped island where the sand is white and the water is impossibly clear. Perfect for families.
A note on responsible turtle watching: we follow every guideline for turtle-friendly observation. Our captain keeps a respectful distance and our guides explain how to share the water safely with these incredible creatures.
Itinerary highlights
Keri Caves Swim
A complex of stunning sea caves on the south-west coast, surrounded by crystal-blue water. We stop here for around 20 minutes — long enough to swim into the caves and snorkel along their walls.
Marathonisi — Turtle Island Swim
A small uninhabited island shaped — quite literally — like a turtle, lying in the middle of Laganas Bay. Its front beach of fine white sand is one of the most important nesting grounds for the Caretta-caretta, and one of the most beautiful places on the island. We anchor here for 50 minutes for a longer swim.
Turtle Spotting Watch
We sail slowly through Laganas Bay for around an hour, watching for loggerhead turtles surfacing alongside the boat. Look down through the glass bottom or up over the rail — either way, sightings are almost guaranteed. Have your camera ready.
